I can practically smell his pre-workout through all of his machismo. I stopped after my first set to drink some water and change the song I was listening to, and I feel a tap on my shoulder. I remember when I went to the gym in my hometown I was using a machine, and not even two reps into my exercise I see out of the corner of my eye a man staring at me - I choose to ignore him. They obnoxiously grunt when they lift weights, they take up the entire area with their stuff, and you can't help but feel like there's at least one who's watching you - anticipating a mistake or "checking out" your form. A female director would offer a different viewpoint for films and would be able to make a female character have her own storyline that does not depend on a man. They are not given a role where they are important characters on their own because they are often only inserted into the film as a love interest for the male lead. Most films that we see are brought to life through the eyes of a man, which leads to many films having the same basic function for their female characters. However, it was only 10 films, which is not an amount that anyone should be proud of. is the studio that has produced the most films by female directors. In the same study done by USC Annenberg, Warner Bros. Women are just as capable as men of being a competent film director and more production companies should give them a chance to succeed. Men have always been labeled as leaders and since the director is one of the central leaders of a film, studios and audiences feel comfortable knowing that a man was behind the story.
We still don't know what it means and we kinda hope they never post it again. Throughout this waiting period, Paramore was eerily quiet from social media but came back every now and then to post this picture on Twitter: a close up of Hayley's mouth from a fan drawing of the band. Zac's solo project, Halfnoise, had an EP coming out in March so Paramore probably had to give Zac time to focus on his own release before diving back into Paramore full-time.
We all thought that once Zac came back in February there was bound to be news soon, but nope. No one knew when they were going to announce anything. Paramore finished recording in late summer and thus began the painful waiting period. Zac was always one of my favorite members before the split in 2010, so I couldn't be happier that he's back. Fast forward to February 2017 and Zac has rejoined as an official member. At the time it seemed like he was just doing them a favor and was only going to play on the record. Shortly after they went into the studio, they asked former member Zac Farro to play drums on the record. But in June of last year they got back in the studio and started making what would become "After Laughter". They had no idea if they were even going to write another record again. So at the start of 2016, Paramore was a duo Hayley Williams and Taylor York. Since the end of the self-titled album cycle, bassist Jeremy Davis left the band in December 2015 and Paramore is now involved in a lawsuit with him over Davis getting writing credit for songs, it's really messy.
Their fourth, self-titled album "Paramore" was their first number one record and their first without founding members Josh and Zac Farro. Paramore started recording this album back in June 2016, after taking a pretty long break after the end of their fourth album's cycle ended in May 2015. On Wednesday, April 19, we finally got the news that Paramore would be releasing their 5th studio album "After Laughter" on May 12 through Fueled By Ramen Records. It's been another exciting week for the Paramore fanbase.
